We have arrived
- First, and I can't stress this enough, you MUST wear deodorant people. I say this every year, and nobody listens to me.
- Further to my first point, there are more people here this year than I have ever seen. Don't believe me? Take a look:
Am I in the right line?
- The floor was packed with wall-to-wall people. It's usually difficult to move, but I've never experienced that many people on Preview Night. It was nearly impossible to see anything. However, I did get a couple of shots of the 3D posters for The Hobbit, and a quick shot of the packaging for The Walking Dead DVD:
These are 3D, so these pictures don't do them justice.
At this point I was feeling a bit hungry, so I made my way into the Gaslamp for a quick dinner and an early night. One last tip for anyone making their way down today, there is construction on Harbor Dr. that brings the street down to one lane in each direction right before the SS Midway. This makes the traffic heading toward the Convention Center heavier than usual. If you are driving yourself, avoid Harbor at all costs; if you are taking a shuttle from your hotel, allow yourself at least 30 extra minutes. Better to be early, and with the shuttles running 24 hours, there's no excuse for tardiness. As Nurse Diesel says, "Those who are tardy do not get fruit cup."
Enjoy the Con!
