First Photo From 'Munsters' Reboot 'Mockingbird Lane' Hits The Web

Producer Bryan Fuller (Pushing Daisies), and director Bryan Singer (X-Men) are currently shooting the pilot for Mockingbird Lane.  ML is a reboot of the 60's television sitcom The Munsters.  This time around it is a one hour dramedy starring Eddie Izzard (Grandpa), Jerry O'Connell (Herman), Charity Wakefield (Marilyn), Mason Cook (Eddie) and - announced yesterday evening - Portia De Rossi (Lily).

There is a ton of curiosity around the production of Mockingbird Lane.  When it was first announced by NBC, many wondered why on earth they would be doing this.  When Izzard was announced as a member of the cast, people started taking the potential of this show serious.

Now Fuller has "accidentally" given us our first look at a member of the cast in costume.  I say accidentally because he had put the picture out on his Twitter feed, along with the casting news of De Rossi.  Those tweets have now disappeared from his account.  Lucky for us, SFX grabbed the picture before it was taken down.  Take the jump to check out Wakefield as Marilyn.

The set looks great.  Just like the original Munsters, Mockingbird Lane is being shot on the Universal lot.  Up until last year, the original set of 1313 Mockingbird Lane was being used on ABC's Desperate Housewives.  Instead of using this house again, the new series has moved right up the street to another house.  This time the practical set (can be shot inside and out) of the house used in The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas has been turned in to the new residence of the Munster family.  Take a look at another picture from Fuller's Twitter feed of the construction taking place.

Mockingbird Lane will debut on NBC this fall, and rumor is that Comic-Con attendees may be the first to see footage.  We'll keep you updated on whether or not it makes the convention schedule.

What say you?
