'Les Miserables' Set Video Shows Jackman, Hathaway And The Barricade

It's no secret that we at POParitaville are musical nerds.  We've been telling you news of Les Miserables for a while now, and today there's a great treat for you.  Set video has hit the interwebs from Flynet Pictures showing Hugh Jackman and Anne Hathaway singing for the finale of the movie.  Thanks to Collider and Slashfilm for bringing the videos to our attention.

Take the jump to watch.

How incredible does the set piece for the barricade look??  This scene is being filmed at the Royal Naval College in Greenwich, London.  Minus the movie crew, everything about this shot makes you feel as if you've gone back in time.  While the previous set pictures gave us a hint at the feel for the movie, this shows the true epic look of what we will be seeing in theatres.  More and more we see that this movie is truly giving the musical the treatment it deserves.

I am curious about the acapella track they were lip syncing to.  In the shows finale, the orchestra builds and builds until the song makes you want to stand up and sing with them.  It leads me to believe that they are using a temp track for this portion.  Or they could just be going for something completely different that will play out in the theatre.  Whatever it is, I'm sold.

Les Miserables storms in to theatres December 14th.

What say you?
