This is the final year that Amy and Rory Pond will be traveling with the Doctor.  This means that the Doctor needs a new companion, and today we have found out that one has been found.  Jenna-Louise Coleman will be joining the Doctor after the 5th episode this season.  How do we know this?  The BBC sent out a tweet earlier today revealing information about when, and how, Amy and Rory will be leaving.

*Spoilers Ahead*

The tweet quotes Steven Moffat, "Amy and Rory will leave in a final encounter w/ the Weeping Angels in ep 5.  Not everyone gets out alive & I mean it this time."

It wasn't long after this news went out that the world was introduced to Jenna-Louise Coleman (of ABC's upcoming Titanic miniseries) as the newest companion on Doctor Who.  In an interview with The Guardian, Moffat says that it's a, "very, very different way for the Doctor to meet his new friend."

Here is an interview that came out today with Jenna where she talks about becoming the newest addition to the Doctor Who universe.

Does the addition of a new companion also mean that we're approaching the end of the Matt Smith run as the Doctor?  Who knows.  We do know that it won't be until the next Christmas special that we'll get to spend time with Jenna as his new companion.

What say you?
