HBO Launches 'Game Of Thrones' Interactive Experience On iPad


Season 2 of Game of Thrones is set to premiere this Sunday and HBO is offering a new way to experience the show.  HBO has already offered an interactive experience when watching episodes on HBO GO, but they are now offering a new experience for iPad users.

According to the press release, here is what you can do on the iPad:


the ability to post status updates to Facebook and Twitter directly while watching. Viewers can also choose to watch the series in portrait orientation on the iPad which enables them to browse locations and characters during episode playback. In portrait mode, a navigable map of Westeros and Essos is always visible below the “alert feed” and a “Guide to Houses” link drives users to view family trees and profiles for all of the series characters.

HBO GO is available for the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad and Android.  You can also now get it on XBOX 360.  HBO GO is free to use for HBO subcribers.  The features mentioned above are only available on the iPad.

The interactive features will launch with the premiere of season 2 of Game of Thrones this Sunday night on HBO.
