'Anchorman' Sequel Given The Greenlight By Paramount

Just a few days ago, I was watching Anchorman - The Legend Of Ron Burgundy, and I thought it was sad that Paramount didn't want to make a sequel.  For a couple of years now, Will Ferrell and Adam McKay have said that they were ready to do a sequel but Paramount didn't want to.  It has seemed like it was a dead deal for some time now, but it appears that Will and Adam were still working hard to get it made.

This afternoon at a taping of Conan, Will Ferrell made an appearance as Ron Burgundy to play a little jazz flute and announce that an Anchorman sequel was indeed coming.

Take the jump to watch the announcement.

I am curious to see how they'll reunite the Action 4 News Team.  At the end of the first Anchorman Ron was now co-anchoring the world news with Veronica Corningstone (Christian Applegate).  Though I am sure the news team will reunite.  I know this because a curious tweet was sent out from Steve Carell earlier today.

I'm speculating that this was after calls had been made to everyone involved to let them know the good news and to tell them how it was going to be announced.

According to Deadline, the sequel will be produced by Judd Apatow's production company at Paramount.  Outside of that, we don't know anything more about the sequel.  You can count on us to keep you updated.

What say you?
