FIRST LOOK: '21 Jump Street' Red Band Trailer Hits

The film version of FOX's hit series 21 Jump Street has been in the works for a while now, and today we have our first preview.  Sony has released a red band trailer that immediately sets it apart from the old TV show.  Take the jump to check it out.

Pretty amusing, but I'm still not sold on it yet.

There were some nods to the TV show in there. From Jump Street being set up in an old church, to having to take drugs to convince people that they're not cops.  It was also great to see them bring up the fact that they look too old to be in high school.  Something that the TV ignored, as does Hollywood in general when they cast people in their 20's and 30's to play high school students.

I am glad that they haven't given away Johnny Depp's cameo.  Though I'm sure that that it won't be long until the studio releases that to drum up more attention.

What was missing was the old TV theme.  Every one, sing it if you know it....

I said, "JUMP!"

21 Jump Street hits theaters March of 2012.

What say you?
