Live Action Short - 'Voltron: The End' - Makes Us Want More

While a live action version of Voltron is still in the works, Alex Albrecht (Diggnation, The Totally Rad Show) has taken things in to his own hands.  Albrecht has directed a live action short - Voltron: The End - and posted it up on the interwebs.  Not only that, but it's f***ing good.  Here is the synopsis:

When a man regains consciousness in a Voltron battle lion after an "accident" he has to decide does he live a few more minutes or try to tell the world what happened... the end is only the beginning.

Take the jump to watch Voltron: The End.

This had so many good things on it's side that I seriously want more.  We we were teased just enough with plot points that we wish it would continue.  The cuts and music cues were perfect and had shades of Firefly.  Then the reveal at the end was just enough to get the nerd in me going.

With this out there, it's possible that Albrecht may be trying to use this as an audition reel to take on the live action movie.  If he can deliver the seriousness in this piece to a full-length movie, I would say that he should definitely be considered.

What say you?
