'Ghostbusters' Coming Back To Theatres For Halloween....AND NOT IN 3D!

This October will give us dogs and cats living together, along with mass hysteria.  That's because the original Ghostbusters is coming back to theatres for the Halloween season.  (I know, right?!)  This will probably be the first time that many fans will see it on the big screen.

According to Digital Spy, Ghostbusters has been given a digital clean-up for the release.  No, you will not be seeing a CGI Stay Puft Marshmellow Man.  Just a clear picture to show off the slime in all it's gooey goodness.  It also does not appear that the movie was given a 3D transfer.  Although now that the word is out, the studio may try a very quick, on the cheap transfer.  We'll call it "Pulling a Clash of the Titans."  I'll hold out hope that this doesn't happen.

I can remember seeing it five times in the theatres when it came out.  Seeing it on the big screen again will be fantastic.

There is currently no exact release date, or a list of participating theatres.  Will update this as soon as it becomes available.

What say you?
