Caesars Reveals New Las Vegas Project: 'The Linq'

Today Ceasars Entertainment revealed something new for the Las Vegas Strip.  The Linq will be a huge outdoor entertainment complex at the center of the strip next to Margaritaville and across the street from Caesars Palace.  According the press release:

The Linq will bring upgrades to three, large mid-Strip Caesars Entertainment resorts and O'Sheas casino. On The Linq's north side, an engaging guest walk path will lead from the Carnaval Court outdoor plaza at Harrah's Las Vegas resort through the Imperial Palace Hotel & Casino and to The Linq. A pedestrian connection also will be built from The Linq into Flamingo Las Vegas on the south. The Linq enhancements will completely transform the facade, porte cochere, casino and hotel reception areas of the Imperial Palace. Improvements to resort guest service areas will be introduced in phases.

Gary Loveman, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Caesars Entertainment Corporation said, "The Linq is going to be the new address for fun at the center of the Las Vegas Strip."

What exactly will make The Linq stand out besides just being the new thing in Las Vegas?  That would be The Las Vegas High Roller.  It will be a huge observation wheel, the worlds tallest at 550 feet.  It is to have 28 sphere shaped cabins that can accommodate up to 40 people.  The cabins can even be booked for group experiences, including bar carts and tasting menus.  Though, I'm not sure that swaying 550 feet in the air will make for a pleasant drinking experience.  Or, it could make it awesome.

The POP Patrol loves Las Vegas.  We don't need any reason to go there, just a time.  When one of us glances down at our watch we instinctively know that the other is thinking how much time it would take us to get there from where we are.  With The Linq, perhaps it's time for POParitaville to host it's first Las Vegas event.

Look for groundbreaking on the project to happen this September.  The Linq is to open in 2013.
