Comedy Central Announces 'Roast of Charlie Sheen'

Today Comedy Central announced something that doesn't seem all that surprising.  The Comedy Central Roast of Charlie Sheen.  It seemed like this roast was already in the works during much of Sheen's recent tour.  He had the 'Roastmaster General' Jeff Ross at quite a few dates come out and roast him.  This added much needed humor to a tour that had - we'll say - mixed reviews.

Always looking for a personality newsworthy of a televised roast, Sheen is the perfect person for this to happen to.

"You could say I've been providing kindling for this Roast for a while," said Sheen. "It's time to light it up. It's going to be epic."

"Charlie has assured us that nothing will be off limits in this Roast... which scares even us," said Kent Alterman, head of original programming and production, COMEDY CENTRAL.

Tradition has the roast dias filled with not only the usual list of comedians (Jeff Ross, Lisa Lampanelli, Patton Oswalt, Whitney Cummings), but also celebrity guests and friends of the roastee.  It will be interesting to see who Comedy Central gets to agree to be a part of this.

The Comedy Central Roast of Charlie Sheen will premiere on Monday, September 19 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

  1. My, oh my, Charlie Sheen does NOT deserve a roast! He doesn't deserve a single shred of publicity or glamourizing. He's a washed up, drunken, womanizing, abusive, vile, addict. Come on people, there's plenty of talented hardworking actors and actresses available. Like the big hair of the 80's, and everything else we pretend never happened, let's put Sheen away for good, and never look back.
