Is This A Teaser For 'The Dark Knight Rises'?

Over the past few weeks there have been some genuine, and some questionable, viral campaigns for The Dark Knight Rises.  The latest one is what is supposedly a teaser playing in front of The Green Lantern.  Take a look at it after the jump and then we'll start the discussion.

There you have it.

I'm going with fake on this one.  If there was a teaser for The Dark Knight Rises playing with The Green Lantern people would have already been buzzing about it last night and this morning.  Plus, once it hit movie screens it more than likely would have been made available elsewhere. (Apple, Yahoo!, etc)  Also, it's just too simple of a teaser.  I couldn't imagine a teaser that did not even show the Batman insignia in some way.

Then again, I've been proven wrong plenty of times.

What say you?

  1. Honestly, I agree. WB has proven that they're pretty darn savvy about web presence these days. It'd be on Apple, Yahoo! and their YouTube channel by now.

It's much too simple, no logo, and the font isn't the same as the fonts used for the two previous movies. Not to mention the teaser for Dark Knight (which Yahoo still has up) had sound clips and the logo - as well as ending it with the Joker and the Joker card. The interesting thing about this "teaser" is that it says nothing about the movie or even a hint about the plot, but went to great lengths to throw in absolutely everyone a trailer might mention at the start and end of the teaser (which seems like overkill for a franchise as prominent as Batman)

And frankly... the audience response seems a little underwhelming for it to be the real deal. I can't imagine that an audience wouldn't have been going crazy the entire time.
