Movie dorks every where were totally stoked at the news that Quintin Tarantino's next movie was to be a spaghetti western called Django Unchained. He's already shown that a love of movies, and movie history, can be used to craft films that not only pay homage to the greats; but can also stand side by side with them. The idea of Tarantino tackling a western is enough to make us want to see it now.
Django Unchained takes place in the old south and centers on a slave who teams with a German bounty hunter to search for his wife.
Today word comes from The Hollywood Reporter that Will Smith is being discussed for the lead role of 'Django'. Christoph Waltz and Samuel L. Jackson are said to be considering starring in the movie.
This movie would be a good direction for Smith to take. Recently he's only been known as finding ways to make his kids stars. From producing re-makes for them to star in, to making them whip their hair back and forth. A Tarantino movie would be just the right thing to make audiences see him in a different light.
What say you?
