The Tony Award nominations are in...where's Daniel Radcliffe?

Nominations were announced earlier today for the 65th Annual Tony Awards in New York.  As expected, The Book of Mormon from South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, grabbed a ton of nominations. (14 total)  Based on everyone's reactions, this show could give Mel Brooks' The Producers a run for their money.

While there was a lot of celebrating and applause for Trey and Matt's show, there was a moment when the audience actually started to grumble.  (Only a New York crown can grumble.)  That was when the nominations for 'Best Actor in A Leading Role in a Musical' were read and there was no nomination for Daniel Radcliffe.  Daniel has been getting fantastic reviews in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.  The show itself did get 8 nominations, including Featured Actor and Actress.

Daniel was also snubbed for a Tony in 2009 for his performance in Equus.

Is it possible that the Tony members do not take Daniel serious as a stage actor because he's also the star of one of the biggest movie franchises of all time?  Perhaps Voldemort is President and this was his last....you get where I'm going with this.

Don't just take our word for it though.  Here's a quick glimpse of Daniel's work in How to Succeed..

This role is a great turn for him.  By taking parts like this on stage, he is making himself a well rounded actor.  Even with a second Tony snub, you can be sure that it won't stop him.

At least we'll probably get to hear a great acceptance speech from Trey and Matt on Tony Award night.

What say you?

Aren't you proud of us?  We did the entire story without making fun Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark.
