POPped Review: The Beastie Boys 'Fight For Your Right - Revisited'

A couple of weeks ago we brought you the teaser for The Beastie Boys 'Fight For Your Right - Revisited'.  The mini-movie stars Will Ferrell, Jack Black, Elijah Wood, Seth Rogen, John C. Reilly and Danny McBride.  Tonight the short premiered on Comedy Central and I have no idea what I just watched.  I do know that I loved it.

This was jam packed with so many cameos I dare you to name them all after you watch it.  Do it without going to the IMDB page.

The full short is not available online yet, but they did edit a music video portion for 'Make Some Noise'

There was absolutely no reason for the whole short to exist, but I'm glad that it does.  You can tell that people just jumped in to have fun with The Beastie Boys while shooting it.  There are plenty of moments from the short have been cut out of this version.  Most of the portion that has been cut out were moments that I just didn't understand.  From a drug haze stabbing, to a lot of arguing.  I just kept watching the whole thing and was fascinated by it.  Although I could have done without the group golden shower at the end.  (Yeah, that happened.)

I would go more into a review of the plot, but there really isn't anything that wasn't covered in our previous post.  This takes place right after the original 'Fight For Your Right' video.  After what you saw in the video, they meet up with their future selves to battle for dominance.

That's it, and it's awesome.

You can catch the whole video as it continues to air on MTV, MTV2, VH1 and Palladia.  So set your DVR's for 3am-5am, because that is usually the only time you'll catch music videos on there.

Once it's available online you can guarantee that we'll have it here for you as well.  In the meantime, enjoy one of our favorite Beastie Boys performances.

What say you?
