'Pirates of the Caribbean' poster shows off the mermaids, and news about Pt. 5

Blah blah Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.  In 3D....blah blah blah blah Johnny Depp, Penelope Cruz and Geoffrey Rush.  Yadda yadda yadda May 20th....blah blah here's the mermaids.

I know, it's quite the eloquent post.  But really, by now if you don't know a new Pirates of the Caribbean movie is coming out, well then you're a very bad person.  But here's the trailer again to get you up to speed.

Today at CinemaCon, Disney showed off footage from the movie.  The Associated Press then had an interview with producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Rob Marshall where they revealed news about a fifth movie.

At test screenings of "On Stranger Tides," "the audience told us what they loved about it is that it was fresh, it was new, it was a whole new story," Bruckheimer said in an interview alongside Marshall. "So that will carry over into the next one, too, to give it something fresh and different. As long as the audience embraces this one, we'll certainly try to make another one. It's really up to Johnny. He loves the character."

Many have already mentioned that there would be more POTC movies, because it's Disney and they can't do anything just once....unless it's Light Magic...or the Rocket Rods.  But this is the first time that they have given any insight to the direction the POTC movie's are taking.

I think it's a good idea to try stand-alone movies with us joining the characters on their journey.  But the novelty can wear thin if it becomes the same thing over and over.  Time will tell.

What say you?
