Warner Brothers Studio London today announced that they will be opening the sets of Harry Potter to visitors beginning in spring of 2012. This creates 'Warner Brothers Studio Tour London - The Making of Harry Potter'. According to the press release:
Among a series of never‐before‐seen exhibits on the three hour long tour, visitors will be able to walk onto some of the most memorable sets from all of the films in the Harry Potter series including the iconic Great Hall, Dumbledore’s office and many others to be announced at a later date.
This is the first time that they have offered any type of official tour, and they're doing a smart thing by making sure it starts with something this popular. With the huge success of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando, it makes sense that this would be offered as well. While it's not a theme park attraction by any stretch of the imagination, they will be doing their best to immerse you in what it took to create the movies in the same sets that were used.
The website also says that down the line they will begin incorporating other movies that film at Leavesden.
No word yet on if a giant, plastic Snape will jump out of the water at you.
If you are planning on going, you need to book tickets online first. For more information on 'The Making of Harry Potter Tour', take the jump to the official web site: http://www.wbstudiotour.co.uk/
What say you? Would this be something to plan a trip around? Would you go more than once?
