Help POParitaville raise money for the Red Cross

All of our Twitter followers know that since news broke on Friday about the devestating earthquake and tsunami in Japan, we have been updating everyone more about what's happening there than what is happening in pop culture.  We think it was the appropriate thing to do.  Just like everyone else who has seen the footage, or watched it live, there is a feeling of helplessness.  It's in those times that other groups pack their stuff and head right in to the heart of it all to assist.  That is how we can help.

The Red Cross is taking donations to help in the relief effort.  Many times we think that sending them food, blankets and clothes is best (and many times it is).  But they then have have to sort, store and transport those items coming in.  The best thing we can do is donate money to help them get the supplies they need. (water, food, medicine, shelter)  To make a $10 donation to the Red Cross, text "Red Cross" to 90999.  This is one of the easiest ways to help.  Here at POParitaville we wanted to help as well, and you can join us.

At POParitaville we have decided to that over the next few weeks 100% of the profits from our POP Wear will be donated to the Red Cross.  Show off your geek pride and help donate to the Red Cross.  Please do not think that we are doing to this to be shameless.  Quite the contrary.  Over the weekend we were tweeting with ladies who were proud to be geeks and we decided to create items for them to show off their geek pride. While making the items I realized that we could use them to help.

Take the jump over to our online stores at Zazzle and Cafe Press to see all of our items for sale.  We have stuff for the male and female geek.  Once again, 100% of the profits from sales will go to the Red Cross.

We hope that you share this with your friends and help us do what we can.

Use #POPpedFemaleGeeks when you share this on Twitter.
