The Ultimate Fan

What you have above is Part 1 of perhaps the greatest fan tribute to Star Wars this side of Cheap Seats.

Star Wars Begins is the culmination of a four year journey by Jambe Davdar to explore the idea of expanded DVD audio commentary. What he has created is so much more.

Essentially Davdar has taken all of the audio commentary, deleted scenes, outtakes, production footage, interviews and other extras and re-edited them into an amazingly in-depth documentary on the original trilogy. This was no small feat, to be sure. He actually created his own trilogy, broken up into 10 minute segments (the maximum length to upload to YouTube). The result is an effort worthy of Ken Burns.

Admittedly, we at POParitaville are late in recognizing Mr. Davdar's achievement, but would like to applaud his accomplishments. My only regret is that I didn't think of it myself. Knowing how much the original films mean to the staff and many of our readers, I encourage you to make the jump to lightspeed over to Davdar's YouTube page and check out his amazing work.

If I were George Lucas, I'd give Jambe Davdar a truckload of money to buy these videos for DVD release. Or at the very least, give the man a paying job at the Ranch.
