Nintendo warns the 3DS could hurt kids

After revealing the 3DS at E3 last year, gamers of all ages have been waiting for Nintendo to release it.  Well, some young gamers will have to wait even longer.  On its website, Nintendo has warned that people under 6 years old should not use the gaming device.  According to PCMAG:

"Vision of children under the age of six has been said [to be in the] developmental stage," according to a note posted to Nintendo's Japanese site. 3D content, including the 3DS, "delivers 3D images with different left and right eye images, [which] has a potential impact on the growth of children's eyes."

Nintendo has also said that gamers of all ages should take a break from gaming in 3D after 30 minutes, or if they get sick.

While I don't think that this will effect sales of the 3DS at all, I think this could hinder the progress of 3D gaming in general.

What say you?
