The Fantastic Four...no more

This is part five in the series called "Three".  That name alone had fans speculating about the name.  It turns out that the speculation is true.  In the latest issue, one of The Fantastic Four will die.

Only take the jump if you want to know who...

*SPOILER ALERT*

Johnny Storm is killed in issue #587.

USA Today asked editor Tom Brevoort about it, and he said:
"Knocking over this particular domino set into motion very specific patterns of behavior on the part of everybody else, which was the patterns of behavior that we needed to get them to where we wanted to go."
Brevoort does go on to say that readers can also expect a surprise in the following issue, #588, which will be the final issue of The Fantastic Four.

What say you?  What do you think the surprise is in #588?  Johnny coming back as a villain?  As a woman?

  1. I'm surprised you didn't include any of the interviews with Jonathan Hickman, who wrote this story arc. In it, he seemed pretty certain that he wasn't going to be bringing back Johnny Storm- and ultimately, if this was anyone else writing it, I would have guessed that the goal was to bring Johnny back.

Considering the solicitation for FF #1, I'm going with a completely different lineup. I think that some of them will be too shaken to continue (not to mention busy) and it'll be an entirely new FF.

This is the Hickman interview- certainly worth a read. http://www.comicsalliance.com/2011/01/25/jonathan-hickman-death-fantastic-four-interview/
