William Shakespeare's "The Tempest"

Okay everyone, it's only Wednesday, but we have given you quite a few movie trailers already this week.  Now I know that we've been keeping you up with what's going in in comic book and science fiction.  Why have we not shared something else for all of our literature and theater nerdlings that visit?  While we've been gawking at the new costumes from Julie Taymor's Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark, something slipped under our radar. (Big thank you to reader Dorian Wallace for directing us to it.)  She has also directed the newest film verion of William Shakespeare's "The Tempest."

Some purists may be a little upset that the main character of Prospero has been changed to a woman and is now Prospera.  (Very clever Julie.)  This changes the dynamic of the main story, but that's neither here nor there.

What say you?  Are you ready for good film based on one of Master Shakespeare's works?  Or are you still reeling from that awful Romeo+Juliet with Leo? (Blah blah, I know some of you liked it.  But face it, some people like The Jersey Shore.  Liking something doesn't make it good.)

"The Tempest" opens in limited engagements on December 10.
