UPDATED!! Ferrel Gets 'Lost', Vegas Gets Hungover, And Other Puns...

Neither of this weeks new releases, "The Hangover" and 'Land of the Lost", could bring down Pixar's "UP," which came in at #1 with $44.2 million.  "The Hangover" came in a close second with $43.3 million.  The BIG surprise was seeing Will Ferrell's "Land of the Lost" come in 3rd with only $19.5 million.  Some may say that it was the bad reviews that kept people away, but lets face it, that's never hurt his movies before.  Perhaps it was the lack of nostalgia from people that kept them away.  While many people remember the tv show, most remember it as being awful.  So why go to a movie based on a show that wasn't good?  Whatever it was, Universal and Will have to be hurting from being blown out like that.  Hopefully Mr. Ferrell will have a Tony Award in his hand tonight to help heal.

Weekend Top 10:

1. "Up," $44.2 million.

2. "The Hangover," $43.3 million.

3. "Land of the Lost," $19.5 million.

4. "Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian," $14.7 million.

5. "Star Trek," $8.4 million.

6. "Terminator Salvation," $8.2 million.

7. "Drag Me to Hell," $7.3 million.

8. "Angels & Demons," $6.5 million.

9. "My Life in Ruins," $3.2 million.

10. "Dance Flick," $2 million.
