Something New In The Star Wars Universe? Maybe?

I don't know about your guys, but I am very much looking forward to 'Lodestar' when it's the screen.  Oh, what's that?  It's the name that the new Star Tours footage has been shooting under in West Hollywood this week.  For yeeeeeaaaaars it was hoped and rumored that a new film would make it's way onto the Disney theme park attraction.  Rumors of new versions were rampant.  There was even an employee part where cast members were told they would ride Star Tours like never before.  It turned out to be everything you normally experience, except the Star Wars movie was switched out to footage from Dick Tracy.  (True story and not as cool or funny as it sounds.)  Then last year during press for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, graphics artist Hayden Landis let it slip that he was working on the updated Star Tours attraction.
Low and behold this shoot is said to involve Boba Fett, Admiral Ackbar, Tuskan Raides (Sand People), Jawas and C-3P0 will be there this week as well.  As far as plot (WARNING: Possible Spoiler Ahead!!), according to
..the revamp will incorporate prequel characters (like Naboo citizens and Geonosians) along with many aliens from the original trilogy (Aqualish. Bith, Rodians, etc). In the action sequence, the Star Tours vehicle is now going to be chased by Boba Fett.  C3PO and R2-D2 are still the hosts, and Anthony Daniels will be recording his parts this week. Admiral Ackbar holographically communicates with the Star Tours vehicle. Right now they’re shooting mostly green screen footage, as it is the middle part of the production timeline.
So get ready for a much needed revamp of Star Tours at the Disney parks.  I can't wait!  Now where is my lightsaber.....

Take the jump over to for the full story.

  1. This troubles me. If they incorporate too many prequel characters it's going to suck like those 3 movies did...unless they somehow manage to kill Jar Jar during the chase. Now THAT would be something...

  2. I believe the tag for this is "3 and half minutes to get it right."
