'Obsessed' Tops Weekend Box Office. Wolverine Waits In The Wings To Take It Down.

The new thriller 'Obsessed' starring Ali Larter (Heroes) and some other lady came in at #1 this weekend.  Last week's top earner '17 Again' came in at #2 with a 51% drop off.  Another new movie, 'Fighting', came in at #3.  Suprisingly, 'The Soloist', starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jamie Foxx, might have been a little too serious for some people and came in at #4.  And Disney's pledge to plant a tree for every person that bought a ticket to see 'Earth', made it one of the biggest premiere's for a documentary made from footage of another documentary.  Does anyone know where said trees are being planted?  It would be kinda funny if all the trees that they were planting were for a Christmas tree farm.  I'm just sayin'.

This coming weekend launches us into the big tent pole movies for the summer season with the opening of 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine'.  This is followed next week by the re-boot of the 'Star Trek' franchise.  Get ready kids, it's gonna be a bumpy summer.
