Samuel L. Jackson Will Me Mother F****** Fury At Least 9 F****** More Times!

SuperHeroHype is reporting that Sam Jackson has signed with Marvel to play Nick Fury in up to possibly 9 different movies.  Holy hell that's a lot!  I can't think of any one else who has ever signed on to play the same character for that many films in recent history.  For most fans (myself included) this does come as a bit of relief.  During the past few weeks there was some doubt that he may not play the character in any Marvel movies due to stalled contract negotiations.  The character of Nick Fury was redone a few years ago in Marvel Comics in Jackson's likeness as an homage, and because he's bad-ass.  So having him show up as Nick at the end of 'Iron Man' was a nerds dream.  But it looked like this wasn't going to happen when neither SLJ or the the film's director John Favreau would comfirm him being in the movie.  This was fueld by the fact that it was announced several months back that Don Cheadle would be replacing Terrence Howard in 'Iron Man 2' much to the surprise of many fans.  And with others saying recently they're in the movie and then they're out, then maybe they're in (Micky Rourke, Emily Blunt, Scarlett Johansson) it was looking kinda shaky.  But alas, SLJ is in and we can rest easy while we wait for production to begin on this soon while we line up for 'Watchmen' opening next week.

Here is what the deal is being reported to consist of:

Jackson's deal is a long-term commitment to play Fury, the leader of the espionage unit S.H.I.E.L.D. His deal contains an option to play the character in nine future Marvel superhero films, efforts that are expected to include The First Avenger: Captain AmericaThorThe Avengers, toplining a possibleS.H.I.E.L.D. movie, and potential sequels.
